Why Choose This Tour?
This tour combines two of Flores’ most famous attractions into a single itinerary.
Kelimutu offers one of Indonesia’s most unique volcanic landscapes, with its famous three-colored crater lakes surrounded by scenic mountain scenery and traditional villages. Komodo National Park provides a completely different experience, featuring dramatic islands, pristine beaches, world-class snorkeling, and encounters with the legendary Komodo dragons.
By combining both destinations, this itinerary offers one of the most comprehensive introductions to Flores for travelers who want to experience the island’s diverse natural beauty.
Best Time to Visit Flores
Flores can be visited throughout the year, although the dry season from April to October generally offers the best conditions for sightseeing, island hopping, and snorkeling.
During the dry season, visitors often enjoy clearer views at Kelimutu Crater Lakes, calmer seas around Komodo National Park, and better snorkeling visibility. The rainy season brings greener landscapes and fewer visitors, although occasional weather conditions may affect boat schedules and visibility.
For the best overall experience, we generally recommend visiting between April and October.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this tour suitable for first-time visitors to Flores?
Yes. This itinerary combines Flores’ most famous attractions, making it an excellent introduction to the island.
Do the colors of Kelimutu Crater Lakes always stay the same?
No. The colors of the lakes can change over time due to natural chemical reactions and volcanic activity.
Is sunrise at Kelimutu included?
Yes. An early morning departure for sunrise can be arranged, depending on weather conditions and guest preference.
Will I see Komodo dragons during the tour?
While wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed, Komodo dragons are regularly seen on Komodo Island and nearby ranger-monitored areas.
Is snorkeling included in Komodo National Park?
Yes. The tour includes visits to several popular snorkeling locations such as Pink Beach, Taka Makassar, Manta Point, and Siaba Island.
Can I see manta rays during the tour?
Manta rays are frequently seen around Manta Point, although sightings depend on weather, season, and natural conditions.
How physically demanding is this tour?
The tour involves light to moderate walking, including short hikes at Kelimutu, Padar Island, and Komodo Island.
What should I bring?
We recommend comfortable walking shoes, swimwear, sun protection, a hat, a reusable water bottle, snorkeling gear if preferred, and a camera.
Can the tour start from Labuan Bajo instead of Ende?
Yes. The itinerary can be operated in reverse, starting from Labuan Bajo and ending in Ende or Maumere. This option is often preferred by travelers whose international or domestic flights connect more conveniently through Labuan Bajo.
Can I upgrade the Komodo National Park day trip to a liveaboard experience?
Absolutely. Instead of the standard day trip, you may upgrade to a 2D1N or 3D2N Komodo liveaboard experience for a more immersive journey through Komodo National Park. Liveaboard options allow you to spend more time exploring remote islands, snorkeling sites, and wildlife areas while enjoying overnight accommodation onboard.
Which option do you recommend: day trip or liveaboard?
For travelers with limited time, the day trip offers an excellent introduction to Komodo National Park. However, for those seeking a more complete experience, we generally recommend a liveaboard trip, as it allows access to more destinations, quieter locations, and spectacular sunrise and sunset views within the national park.
