Tour Itinerary
Day 1 : Surabaya/Malang – Ranu Pane
Pick up from your hotel, airport, train station, or other agreed location in Surabaya or Malang before transferring to Ranu Pane Village, the gateway to Mount Semeru National Park.
Upon arrival, complete the necessary trekking registration procedures and prepare for the adventure ahead.
Overnight in Ranu Pane.
Day 2 : Ranu Pane – Ranu Kumbolo – Kalimati Camp
After breakfast, begin the trek toward Ranu Kumbolo Lake. The hike typically takes around 4 to 5 hours through forested trails and open landscapes.
After a rest and lunch at Ranu Kumbolo, continue trekking for approximately 3 more hours toward Kalimati Camp, the final campsite before the summit attempt.
Overnight camping at Kalimati.
Day 3 : Kalimati – Mahameru Summit – Surabaya/Malang
Wake up around 1:00 AM and begin the summit attempt toward Mahameru Peak via Arcopodo and Cemoro Tunggal. The ascent is physically demanding, particularly on the steep volcanic sand slopes leading to the summit.
Reach the summit around sunrise and enjoy spectacular views of East Java’s volcanic landscape and the active Jonggring Saloko crater.
After descending back to Kalimati for breakfast, continue trekking to Ranu Pane. From there, transfer by local 4WD vehicle to Tumpang before returning to Surabaya or Malang. End of tour.
