14D Ancient Indonesia Overland

The 14 days ancient Indonesia overland tour will bring you to travel through time. Including a visit to the ancient stone grave in Toraja, where you still can feel the mystical atmosphere, and a meet and greet with the largest living lizard, Komodo dragon. You can also have a dip in the clear blue water accompanied by mantas and sea turtles in one of most favorite diving spot in Indonesia.

Route : Yogyakarta – Magelang – Tana Toraja – Makassar – Ubud – Labuan Bajo (Komodo Island) – Kuta

Highlights : Borobudur park, Tana Toraja stone grave, Tongkonan traditional house, Rinca Island

 

Day 1     Yogyakarta – Magelang

Pick up at Yogyakarta Airport. After meet and greet with our driver and guide, we will proceed to Magelang area. Upon arrival, check in hotel close to Borobudur Temple.

Day 2     Magelang – Yogyakarta

After breakfast and check out hotel, you will visit the main compound of Borobudur Temple, world’s largest Buddhist temple. After done in Borobudur, we will proceed back to Yogyakarta. Upon arrival in Yogyakarta, we will visit Kotagede, a region famous for its fine silver handicraft. For dinner, we will take you to the hype Prawirotaman area. After done, we will proceed to your hotel for check in.

Day 3     Yogyakarta

After breakfast, we will visit Keraton Jogja (Sultan Palace) and Taman Sari. Then we will continue to Malioboro traditional street market for your own free shopping spree, and test your ability to bargain cheap clothes and souvenirs. After done, we will visit Prambanan Temple, and then we will go back to the hotel for a good rest.

Day 4     Yogyakarta – Makassar – Tana Toraja

We will check out from your hotel early in the morning and head directly to the airport for your flight to Makassar. Upon arrival, you will be picked up and transferred to Tana Toraja by car (approximately 8 hours drive). Upon arrival in Tana Toraja, check in hotel.

Day 5     Tana Toraja

After breakfast, we will have a full day Toraja tour visiting Lemo, the stone grave with tau-tau installed on a high cliff and the royal family tombs at Suaya. We will also see the giant tree that made as burial site for babies who died before teething at Kambira. After Lunch, we will drive to the traditional carving village at Kete Kesu and the  natural burial cave at Londa. Then we will visit Nanggala Village, to see the traditional Tongkonan houses with 16 rice barns standing in a row. Our last visit will be the ancient house grave at Marante. After done, we will head back to your hotel.

Day 6     Tana Toraja – Makassar

After breakfast and check out hotel, we will head back to Makassar for overnight, passing traditional Bugis villages and scenic mountain and forest view. Upon arrival in Makassar, check in hotel.

Day 7     Makassar – Ubud

Free program until transfer time to the airport for your flight to Denpasar. Upon arrival in Denpasar, we will pick you up and head to Ubud area. Upon arrival in Ubud and check in, you can enjoy your free time for the rest of the day.

Day 8     Ubud

Free time for today. You can have a walk in the center of Ubud, visiting the Royal Palace, Ubud Art Market, or the Monkey Forest. You can also join a yoga class or take a scenic walk at Tjampuhan Ridgewalk.

Day 9     Ubud

After breakfast, we will head to Tegallalang to see the great setting of rice terraces and then continue to Kintamani Highland, to see the lake with its Mt. Batur background. After doe, we will visit  Tirta Empul Temple and if you’re a coffee drinker, we would love to take you to the civet coffee workshop for a taste. After done, we will head back to your hotel for a free time.

Day 10   Ubud – Labuan Bajo

Free time until time to proceed to Denpasar Airport for our next flight to Labuan Bajo. Upon arrival in Labuan Bajo, check in hotel.


CHOICE 1         

Day 11   Labuan Bajo – Manta Point – Mawan Island – Rinca Island – Kalong Island – Labuan Bajo

Pick up at your hotel at 07.30. We will then transfer to the harbor and head to Manta Point with a local wooden boat. Here you can do some snorkeling, and if you’re lucky you can have a swim with the mantas. Then we will head to Mawan Island and walk on their Pink Beach. You can also dip and snorkel here to see the wide range of untouched corals. After lunch, we will head to Rinca Island. Upon arrival in Rinca, we will explore the island with a 2 hours trek to see the komodo dragons living in the natural habitat and some other wildlife such as buffalo, horse, deer, and wild boar. After that, we will depart to Kalong Island, where tea/coffee break will be served while we’re waiting for sunset. Later, we can see the bats flying out from the mangrove forest heading to mainland Flores to find food. Then we will head back to Labuan Bajo and drop you off at your hotel.

Day 12   Labuan Bajo – Cunca Rami Waterfall – Sano Nggoang Crater Lake – Labuan Bajo

Pick up at your hotel at 7.30. We will use a 4WD jeep for our trip today to Sano Nggoang Crater Lake. The driver will take around 2 hours, in which during the drive our guide will tell you things about Manggarai Tribe tradition, and the villages you will across. On the way to the crater lake, we will make a stop at Cunca Rami Waterfall, where you can swim in the refreshing fresh water. After some hot tea/coffee break, we will continue our trip to the lake. Upon arrival at the lake, we will set up a picnic lunch for you by the shore of the lake. Later you also can swim in the warm water of the lake, take a bath at the hot spring nearby, and visiting the traditional village in the area. After done, we will go back to Labuan Bajo and drop you off at your hotel.

Day 13   Labuan Bajo – Kuta

After breakfast, you will have a free time on your own, until time we will drop you off at Labuan Bajo airport for your flight to Denpasar. Upon arrival in Denpasar, check in hotel in Kuta area.


CHOICE 2

Day 11 Labuan Bajo – Rinca Island – Pink Beach

Pick up at your hotel at 07.30. We will then transfer to the harbor and head to Rinca Island with a local wooden boat. Upon arrival in Rinca, we will explore the island with a 2 hours trek to see the komodo dragons living in the natural habitat and some other wildlife such as buffalo, horse, deer, and wild boar. After trekking we will go back to the boat and proceed to Pink Beach the best place for snorkeling with wonderful underwater life. Accommodation and dinner will be served on the boat around the beach.

Day 12 Komodo Island – Manta Point – Kalong Beach – Kanawa Island

Early in the morning, we visit Komodo Island. Upon arrival, we will head to arrive at Loh Liang and then explore the island for another chance to see the komodo dragons. After done, we will go back to the boat and then boating to Manta Point for snorkeling and swimming. If you are lucky you will see manta rays swimming near the surface or swim around you. After that, we will depart to Kalong Island to see the bats flying out from the mangrove forest at sunset. We will then head to Kanawa Island for docking and overnight.

Day 13 Sebayur Island – Mawan Island – Rinca Island – Kalong Beach – Labuan Bajo – Kuta

After breakfast, you will have a free time snorkeling at Kanawa Island. Later then, we will head to Bidadari Island for another snorkeling time and see the beautiful array of corals. After that, we will head back to the main island and drop you off at Labuan Bajo airport for your flight to Denpasar. Upon arrival in Denpasar, check in hotel in Kuta area.


Day 14   Kuta

Free program on your own, until time when we will drop you at Bali airport for your flight back home. End of tour.
