Shore Excursion : Trowulan

Have a limited time but wants to see something when you’re docking in Surabaya? Join our day trip to Trowulan to see the less visited temples from the 14th century and taste the local delicacies.

Route : Surabaya – Trowulan site – Surabaya

Highlights : Trowulan Museum, Bajang Ratu Gate, Tikus Temple, Brahu Temple

 

Day 1   Surabaya – Trowulan – Surabaya (No Meals)

We will pick you up at agreed spot in Surabaya. And after meeting our driver and guide, we will proceed to Trowulan area.

Upon arrival, our first stop will be Trowulan Museum. Here you can learn a little history about Majapahit Kingdom, see several archaeological findings nearby the area, and some exchanged goods from the kingdoms in faraway land (eg. Champa Kingdom and Sukhothai Kingdom).

Done learning on how the people lives back then, we will continue our trip to visit Bajang Ratu Gate, which noted in the old script as a holy place for one of the king. We will then proceed to the nearby Tikus Temple. This temple was a royal bathing pool back then, and only discovered by 1914.

Crossing over to the next village, we will visit our last stop, Brahu Temple. Based on the old script, this place was where they cremate the first four kings of Majapahit and the place to send prayers for them.

If we have more time, we will also visit Mahavihara Majapahit to see one the 10 largest sleeping Buddha statue in Southeast Asia.

After lunch, we will proceed back to Surabaya and drop you off at your desired destination. End of tour.
